Ms. Shainaz Jussa

Shainaz is a 'Professional Jolly Phonics Trainer' certified by Jolly Learning Ltd. UK. She has been teaching Phonics using Jolly Learning methodology for over 19 years. She runs her own phonics training centre in Mumbai, India, called Phonickids. She also conducts Teacher Training workshops and since her foray into Phonics, Shainaz has taught 20,000+ students & over 18,000 teachers till date. She has conducted various Training Workshops in Oman, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Kenya & Cambodia. She also works closely with NGOs working with under privileged children like Link Ethopia, Hope For Children Australia, Abinta Kabir Foundation, Bangladesh, Akij Foundation, Bangladesh and more. Currently she is working with the Ministry of Education, Nagaland & training Government schools in Nagaland and Ladakh. She is also working with the Ministry of Education in Djibouti & Somaliland (East Africa). Her first visit to Bangladesh was in 2013 when she accepted an invitation to conduct a Teacher Training Workshop on Jolly Phonics for Frobel Play School. Since then she has been guiding and mentoring our teachers on the successful implementation of the Jolly English and Jolly Phonics Programme.

Bipasha Mukherji

Bipasha Mukherjee has been working in the field of education for 19 years. She has a Bachelors in Education and has worked in mainstream classrooms and has also been responsible for implementing a multisensory curriculum. In the course of her teaching she realised there were children with “hidden” special needs in her class and became interested and involved in finding ways to teach them. She worked with Orkids Foundation, Delhi and completed her PG Diploma on Management of Learning Disabilities of SNDT Mumbai. She has lead consultancy support to organisations and schools outside Delhi for SEN support, and has been a core faculty in the various courses under Orkids Institute of Higher Learning, as well as conduction of awareness and skill enhancement workshops. Presently, she is an independent Special Education Needs Consultant based in Ahmedabad, India., working with Anand Niketan School in Ahmedabad, Frobel Play School, and Frobel Academy. In recognition of her efforts she was awarded   the runner-up position as “ Outstanding Teacher of Children with Special Needs” in the North Zone, at the Guruvaar Awards in 2009-2010.

Milind Sonawane, Ireland.

Milind Sonawane has a Master’s degree in Audiology and Speech Language Therapy from the University of Mysore, India in 1999. He has worked in various special needs schools in Singapore, India, and Ireland. Currently, he is working in Ireland as a Sr. SLT with the ASD team. He provides communication rehabilitation services to clients from cradle to grave with complex disabilities and genetic profile. He is also a consultant SLT with the NeuroHero Company producing clinically useful apps for people with speech and language difficulties called “talk around it”. His work Profile includes assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation of clients presenting with Speech and Language disorders from paediatric to geriatric caseloads. He works collaboratively with some centres such as CRIA, in Delhi & Uttarakhand (Board member).

Dr. Amrapali Lahiri, Director - Milestones (Occupational Therapist)

Amrapali is the founder of Milestones a multi-disciplinary organization serving families of children with special needs in Delhi-NCR since 2008. With more than 20 years of experience of working with children with autism and developmental disabilities, she currently oversees the team of therapists for the clinical and home program section of Milestones. Graduating as the top student from the National Institute of Locomotor Disability (NILD – Kolkata) at an undergraduate level, Amrapali completed her Master’s in Healthcare Administration in 1998. She is a certified ‘Brain -Gym’ therapist (Edu-K Singapore), ‘HANDLE’ Therapist, Oral Placement Therapist, ‘SEARCH & Teach’ practitioner and Feeding Therapist. She has additionally trained for the ‘King of Swings’ program under Alexander Lopiccolo and undergone multiple practical exposures at the Bobath Center London for ‘Neuro Developmental Therapy’. Amrapali has extensive clinical experience with assessment and program development that is designed to treat challenging behaviors, build communication and functional life skills. Some of the team-based intervention that she incorporates are the Principles of Sensory Integration Therapy, Neuro Developmental Therapy (NDT) and customized programs incorporating Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), Floor time model etc. for early intervention.   Amrapali has trained & supervised several teams of therapists, parents and other professionals on Sensory Motor Development, Visio Perceptual Development, Handwriting & Fine motor skills development under the aegis of Milestones, NIPCCD, ORKIDS & Action for Autism. She has proactively initiated virtual and blended training for caregivers & parents for execution of home-based programs across multiple states of India and in Bangladesh to improve the quality of life for the children. She assists with the development and implementation of evidence-based treatment approaches, in addition to providing clinical guidance and mentorship to the milestones team. In the past she has been associated in full time and part time capacities with organizations such as Tamana Special School (Delhi), British School (Chanakyapuri), Sita Ram Bhartiya Hospital and Children’s First. Her work and contributions have been acknowledged by The Deendayal Upadhyay Institute for the Physically Handicapped New Delhi, National Institute for Locomotor Disability Kolkata, Mahavir Puraskar (Govt of Bihar)  , Modern School (Humayun Road -New Delhi) Step By Step School – Noida , FROBEL ,Nishpap & FARE Bangladesh to name a few.  Amrapali is the mother of two children and understands the importance of considering the needs and wants of all members of the family when establishing therapy goals. She spends her spare time with her children and husband, reading, and travelling.
